Our Story
What started out as a small spa business back in 2001 has grown over the years into a sprawling hectare of gardens, offering cozy accommodations, food and beverage services, wellness treatments, spa services, team building programs, weddings and corporate events among the lush greenery known as Nurture Wellness Village.
In 2015, the Nurture management established Nurture Farmacy, an organic farm catering to our expanding requirements for pesticide-free vegetables in Nurture’s restaurant. Nurture Farmacy is now a Department of Tourism accredited farm tourism destination. its vegetable plots are shaped like the different systems of the body and planted with the healing herbs and vegetables best suited for each body system/organ.
Located deep amidst coffee orchards, both Nurture Wellness Village and Nurture Farmacy offer a distinctive brand of “Ecotherapy” or healing by and through nature. We provide a unique Filipino wellness experience, like our iconic Ifugao native huts and Filipino themed decor, our therapeutic Filipino themed spa treatments, our Filipino fusion cuisine in our restaurant The Farmer’s Table and our medicinal plants-themed farming experience.
Nurture offers a wide range of spa and wellness services for individuals, couples, families and corporate teams. Our signature Filipino treatments Nilaib, Hilot and Dagdagay treatments celebrate the country’s wellness culture. Our detoxification and natural healing treatments were developed by a licensed medical doctor who has been practicing integrative and alternative medicine for over 20 years. Nurture’s holistic and customized weight loss programs include a computerized health scan, detoxification and spa services, wellness coaching, healthy food preparation, organic gardening activities, food and accommodation.

Nurture’s groundbreaking programs, such as “The Work Well Program” and “Balik Tanaw” introduce wellness and Filipino culture to corporate executives and staff through fun-filled educational activities, which help them rediscover Filipino traditions and adopt a sustainable wellness lifestyle.

The Founders
Nurture Wellness Village and Nurture Farmacy are owned jointly by Dr. Mike Turvill, a British national and his Filipina Wife Cathy. Mike is a Doctor in Organic Chemistry from the University of Nottingham, UK. Cathy is a Culinary Arts Graduate and an internationally licensed therapist (CIBTAC, UK). She also has international certifications as a Nutritional Therapist (UK) a Health and Wellness Coach (US), a Living Foods Educator (US) and Cardiac Health Facilitator (CHIP, USA). She also studied Body-Mind Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Mike and Cathy own two spa related companies: Hotel and Spa Essentials, a supplier of top quality and sustainable spa and hotel products to five star spas and resorts and Spa and Wellness Professionals which offers spa and wellness training and consultancy services.
Cathy was the Founding President of the Spa Association of the Philippines and was a Board Member of TIEZA (Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority).
Mike is the immediate Past President of the Cosmetics Chamber of the Philippines and currently sits on the Board of the Hotel and Restaurants Association of the Philippines (HRAP).

Nurture Wellness Village and Nurture Farmacy make the CHOICES model come alive through the various services we offer. Nurture provides a haven for relaxation and healing to the stressed out urbanite; Nurture Farmacy is an educational, fun and interactive farm experience.
